Hi all I know it's been a while since I last posted things have been a little crazy around here, but I wouldn't have it any other way. Christmas is fast approachig and as the title of this blog says this is my favorite time of year. This is the time when my family celebrates the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ. Some of the best things about this time of year is so beautiful with the lights, the snow (and if your where I live lots of it :)), the music. *sigh* This is also the time of year for my to think back on what God has done. Mainly how he's brought me here. Lately it's been brought to my attention how drastically different things could have been had my mom not decided to homeschool me and had God not saw fit to clear the way for that to take place. For those who don't know I was bullied from gradeschool through junior high. I don't know what path I would have taken if this had continued through highschool. Thankfully I was spared from that and also taught to learn in a way that worked with my creative mind. Little did I know that this would also lead to my writing, but in that time I started writing in earnest and now here I am a published author. Also with this time of year comes gift giving and what better gift to give a science fiction fan then a copy of The Alestrion Chronicles: Slaves Redeemed by LeAnna Shields. They make a great stocking stuffer ;).

Good morning Y'all,
Well as you can see by my title Changes are coming. First the second edition of my book is nearly released as soon as the proofs get approved. I've changed the cover a little, fixed some mistakes that snuck in there and impoved the flow of the sentenses hopefully. Second not to offend those I've already spotlighted, but I am going to restore that part of my site to what I envisioned. A site where Christian indie authors can have their work spotlighted. I will be willing to spotlight non-christians, but they must meet certain requirements. Nothing erotic, nothing to graphically violent. Basically if you're embarassed to have your family read it than I might not post it. I hope this is helpful for you in deciding whether or not this site is right for you. Have a great day all see you next time.

Hi Y'all
Ahhh the life of an indie author. When I entered this I had know idea I entered a war zone. There's the battle I've observed between those I've dubed "traditionalists" and the indies. Words have been thrown around like "second class option." "Cheats" "grade b authors" by the traditonalists. I have yet to see the indies counter with their own insults, but I gladly admit I'm still new to this world. I also had no idea that the summer (when everyone starts talking about the books they read by the pool) was a slump time. Mine and many of my fellow authors sales have plumetted. Now I say this all the time, "I want the success God wants for me." And if he's chosen to test my trust in this sump so be it. How do these two different topics time together? Well for me they've both been tests for me. I'm not at the point yet where it's easy to ignore the traditionalists and it's often made me question my decisions on going the indie rout, but in the end I think I've made the right decision. And the sales well I try to be ok with the slump but it's hard not to want to yank control away and try to force things my way. So for now I put my trust in God that what he wants to happen will happen.
Hope y'all have a great day:)

Hi Y'all
Yeah I know it's been a long time since I last posted in my blog. God's been doing some amazing things since I started this amazing journey of becoming a published author. His hand has truly been on this process from the begining. First has been my amzing author friends on facebook who have helped me get to where I am now. Thank you. God has also provided at every step of the way. He's lead me to a great opportunity for advertising using video e-mails and finally getting a web camera. I hope you'll all continue to join me on this journey. Thanks again have a great week.

Ok readers from now on Adventures of a fiction writer will be found here. Sorry for the confusion. For some reason the system I thought would bring more readers has only succeeded in locking readers out.:( Again I'm sorry.

Hi, I'm LeAnna. I've loved the fantasy genre since I was two and could supposedly quote the entire Wizard of Oz movie. Around the fourth grade I discovered I had a knack for creating characters in the form of imaginary friends. Some say I pestered the poor teacher's assistant on the playground with tales of my "friends" adventures. But thanks to her suggestion that I should write them down, here I am. Sadly, I can no longer remember the name of that TA or I would thank her here. It wasn't until high school that I started writing full chapter novels, starting with Star Wars fan fiction.
The Alestrion Chronicles is a story that has been stirring my soul for years now. When the image of a slave girl with white hair named Aria popped into my head, I thought I had the beginings of an exciting journey. Adding the griffin and phoenix, I feel I have woven an original tale of freedom, discovery, and triumph.
